Card houses

Most of all though we love making card houses . On winter nights when the weather is crackling and howling, we snuggle under a blanket and build card houses. When one of our card houses fall to the ground like a person collapsing we laugh, but no one minds, we just start again.

Today some students from Room 11 went tree planting.  Here are some photos.

Today we made Marshmellow Shooters for learning pathways!  We are learning about force, stretch and gravity.  We had a lot of fun.

OK Krew  

    Today, Beachlands school saw a dance group called OK Krew. They were so cool!!! There was even a little girl on stage. There was a man who did lots of flips, he was definitely my favourite. The most common man, 'mana' was so funny, he made my friend Logan say “my precious” in a loud, funky voice. That was my favourite bit, big time!!!!!!

Learning Pathways
For homework this week we had to learn a game that our parents and grandparents played when they were little.  Some games that we learnt were making card houses, master mind, stop the bus, marbles, slap hand, pick up sticks, coon can, conkers, blind mans bluff, elastics, naughts and crosses, 4 square, charades and knuckle bones.
We had to teach each other what we learnt.

Moving day

Today we brought in toys that moved for learning pathways!  We had to bring in toys that were not run my batteries or by power.  Some of things that we brought in were skipping ropes, skate boards, bey blades, marbles, yo-yo, scooters, wind up toys, toy motorbikes and buzzy bees.  We took photos of all the toys and sorted them into groups.

Day one of Term 3

Today was our first day back after the holidays.  We had nice day back at school.  We went to the library and Makoia chose us a book called 'Lucy's Cat and the Rainbow Birds' by Anthony Hill.  In this book we saw some amazing artwork and we have decided to have a go.  Have a look!
